It’s Winter Solstice today here in the Southern Hemisphere – the shortest day in the year. Apparently the sun rose this morning at 7.23am and the sun set at 17.11. Another cold day, too – the maximum only reached 13.5C. I worked until about 6.30pm today because we had a budget meeting from 3-5pm and I had a Branch Dossier to finish by early next week.
So, I have a couple of things to look forward to — the longer days, now that we have passed the Winter Solstice … and just to cope with the smaller budget post the massive budget cut! I was slated to have two new staff under me when I moved back to Communication and Marketing, but changes in the budget and the organisation structure caused me to lose the new positions. Nevermind, I used to have one, now I have three …
The only way is up indeed! 🙂
Well, it’s time for me to go to sleep as it is already 13 minutes till midnight, and I have to have enough sleep to battle the cold! People around me at the office sneeze and sniffle, so I have to be strong. Haha.
You may be interested to know that here, the sun sets around 11 pm…. two more hours until it gets completely dark…. and if I am late with going to sleep (say, 3 a.m.), the darkness is already leaving and the morning birds are singing as loud as a rock band. The temperatures are not very high, according to your standards; however, 25 degrees under flaming sun is quite enough to feel comfortable. So, my dear Arry, why don’t you move to the Northern hemisphere 😛
Show off! 😛
