- Marley & Me — A humorous (and touching at times) account of John and Jenni Grogan when they adopted Marley, a labrador retriever, into their household. John is a great narrator who makes the book easy to read. By the end of the book (which ending you can probably guess), I’m sure you’ll be feeling as sad as I was — when you realise that the impending finale is coming to the old Marley, who you just read hours ago, was a boisterous, silly dog.
