Last day in Indonesia

Today will be my last full day in Indonesia – tomorrow morning I’ll fly over to Singapore and spend three nights over there. I’ll also try to extend my Singaporean Permanent Residence, if I can. I was told that the chance would be slim because I have no ongoing connections with the country anymore. Nevertheless, it doesn’t hurt to try – I will also catch up with my old friends over there.

I’m going to meet some of my old Citi workmates as well today at lunchtime. Too bad some won’t be able to make it, but at least I will have a chance to hear the latest news and developments. Haha. I’ll be heading over to Senayan City and after that, I may head over to Cempaka Mas again for some more DVDs, but we’ll see. I also plan to meet a friend of mine who used to work for Citibank as well in the evening. So it will be quite a full day today! The flight tomorrow will be at 9.15, so unfortunately I will need to get up early tomorrow morning!

My money still hasn’t arrived yet in my Visa Cash Passport – I may need to resort to taking some cash advance due to the financial product mishmash. Unfortunately the ATM card that I have with Adelaide Bank is not linked to Visa or Mastercard, so it can only work in Australia – so I have to move some of the funds to my Visa Cash Passport so I can access it from overseas. However, it’s just silly in my opinion that I need to wait for three business days for the funds to be cleared – if one is travelling overseas and needs urgent cash and then loads the Visa Cash Passport with some money online, he/she will still need to wait for three business days! Argh!

Anyway, I’m off to face Monday now! 🙂

I've finally relented to the lures of blogging - and for those who care, well, I'm a self-confessed geek who's a wanderer at heart, who thinks and analyses too much, and who's trying hard to hold on to his 7-year old inner persona.

  1. Hmmmm, according to the Travelex brochure you need only wait 2 business days for your funds…did you reload via BPAY? If so then you have a point to make on your return to trusty o’l Adelaide Bank! Clearly though, invest in a Visa debit card – much, MUCH easier 🙂 Sounds like an interesting and soul-searching holiday you’ve had Arry, it’ll be nice to have you home again.
