A weekend of gluttony

I have probably gained one or two kilos more, which I have to shed in the next coming days. This weekend has turned out to be a weekend of eating and snacking. Winter has its way too add extra kilos to your body weight, which you will have to work hard to lose for a whole year afterwards! 😳

It started on Friday evening – I got myself some Krispy Kreme doughnuts from the Melbourne airport. So, after returning to Adelaide and making a detour to Bunning’s to buy myself a new Euonymus alatus plant, I was quite peckish when I arrived home. I only had a very short time as I had to change and then take another bus to the city for the youth cellgroup in Currie Street. So what did I do? I ate four doughnuts of course … hahaha. After the cellgroup, we all went to Kwik Stix in North Adelaide for dinner, and I had a plate of disappointing Thai Basil noodle – it didn’t taste Thai at all, and I couldn’t taste any basil either! 🙁 Yani also gave me a jar of crispy anchovies to snack because she knows how much I love crispy anchovies … haha. So I had been snacking on that all weekend! I finished the rest of the doughnuts (the remaining two) by Saturday morning. On top of that, I also had a pack of Charlesworth nuts that I bought on Thursday – I finished all of it just now before I had my coffee.

For the pièce de résistance, after the prayer meeting yesterday some of us went up to Adelaide Hills to Hahndorf for dinner. We went to Hahndorf Inn and initially I was going to order Duo of Kranskys (two kransky sausages with potatoes) but I was tempted by the German Mixed Grill because two of my friends were ordering that. I ordered it at the end and it was huge! It had two sausages, a pork chop, some potatoes, sauerkraut, and a  little ball of herb dumpling. I don’t eat pork that much so I finished the pork chop without relishing it too much. I should’ve paid attention to the description because it clearly stated pork chop – I thought perhaps the steak could be beef. Nevertheless, I went home like a stuffed turkey!

So yeah, it has been a weekend of gluttony! Tonight after church, we will also have our wintercamp fundraising ‘food fair’ which I will reluctantly partake (haha). I will probably end up eating too much again tonight! I hope I don’t look like a pig too much … hahaha.

Oink, oink.
