I’m sitting in the Virgin Blue airport lounge again – waiting for my flight back to Adelaide after spending some time working and answering a couple of emails and also checking out my Facebook profile. I took an early flight at 7.05am with the Research Consultant so he could do the presentation to the client at 10.00am. It has been a rewarding project – the challenge is mentally stimulating and we got to do some choice modelling as well!
The busy week is making me really tired mentally though – after going home at 7.15pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as having had a relatively late night yesterday (I had to go to Marion to complete the last leg of a mystery shopping exercise), I was totally tired today. It was hard to keep myself awake in the taxi from the city to the airport. The strong latté in the lounge also helped a lot as it provided me with the necessary energy boost.
I really can’t wait for the weekend – I may go to the Adelaide Hills, weather permitting – just to relax and soak in the colours and the scenery. I have to arrange the trip to the Hills to fit with a scheduled visit to the hairdresser to have my head shorn. My hair is getting long again and I can’t stand it! 😛 People say that it’s still short, but I just love it better when I have short short haircut – back to being 28! Hahaha. Well, it’s much cheaper than a facelift! A haircut will do it for me. Hahaha. 🙂
Regarding Autumn, I came across a quote by Stanley Horowitz: “Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.” Beautiful, isn’t it? Or how about this one by Samuel Buttler: “Youth is like spring, an over praised season more remarkable for biting winds than genial breezes. Autumn is the mellower season, and what we lose in flowers we more than gain in fruits.” Very profound and very beautiful.
Well, I should pry myself away from the computer and chill out – my plane will leave in about an hour and it’s time that I join the Research Consultant and enjoy some airport lounge socialising.
