I’m back in Amsterdam now, feeling a bit sad knowing that the end of my holiday is just around the corner. On the other hand, I had a marvellous time and can’t wait to return to the office to share about my experience. (Watch out, James, Paula, Nick! Hehehe). It feels a bit funny too knowing that my last encounter with Amsterdam wasn’t a pleasant one – i.e. not having a shower to freshen myself up after the 12-hour-flight from Singapore, and having to endure further 11 hours before I could take one! Haha.
I ended up not going to the Ghost Walk because it rained up until 9.00pm and I just couldn’t be bothered. It turned up to be a blessing in disguise as I had a chance to repack my bag and lose some of the junk that I have accummulated during my trip (brochures that I picked up and ended up not being actioned, receipts, etc.). At the end I was also happy that I didn’t spend some of my cash on the Ghost Walk, as the taxi trip to the airport cost me about 450Kcs. Because of the zealous hotel attendant, she advised me to call the taxi at 5.00am as it would take 20-25 minutes to the airport and that I *should* be there 2 hours in advance. I thought she might be right because there might be heaps of tourist groups flying in and out of Prague. So, I had to get up at 4.20am, got ready, went to the airport, and it was quiet … I was waaaay early. At least the airport was open!
So now I’m in Amsterdam again, nothing much to report as I’m going to use this time to relax before my trip home. I may take an excursion to the nearest town tomorrow if I feel like it. Otherwise, I may just walk around Kalverstraat and buy a DVD or a CD … it’s nice to have a day without a touristy agenda for a change. *grin*. Although, I suppose it would be nice to go to Delft, Utrecht or Den Haag!
PS: Aita, kl! 🙂
