Finally up and running again!

Jumping for joy

I was informed that the blog was offline yesterday morning – and I thought that it was the normal occasional downtime that I experience from time to time. I have increasingly become more dissatisfied with my website hosting provider (andhosting) for the seemingly unreliable connection recently. I sent an email to the support team, informing them of the timed-out connections, to which I didn’t receive any update until eight hours later. To their defense, it was probably early morning in the US – however, having worked in several institutions that dictated that a down-time of more than x amount of hours meant that it was an urgent situation, I was getting pretty upset by the evening when the problem was not fixed. Moreover, my blog was rerouted to the control panel page of my website! 😡 If this incident had happened in a commercial world, I wouldn’t want to guess the amount of commercial loss that could have ensued.

I stayed up until about 2am yesterday because I was still pretty concerned with the state of my blog – thankfully I was assisted by one of the technicians there called Ryan, who sent me updates from time to time. When I got up this morning, the site was already alive again. Phew. At least I can regain my sense of humour and ‘joy’ again — haha, well, after pouring so much energy, attention and love into my blog, I would’ve really hated it, if it suddenly disappeared for no reason! My blog has also become another avenue for my friends and family to know where I’m at and what I’m doing – since I have become pretty slack in writing emails and contacting them. Haha.

Anyway, I don’t have time to dilly dally unfortunately – I need to get ready and head off to church!

Have a great Sunday!

I've finally relented to the lures of blogging - and for those who care, well, I'm a self-confessed geek who's a wanderer at heart, who thinks and analyses too much, and who's trying hard to hold on to his 7-year old inner persona.
