In about half an hour, I will take my shower and finish my packing and head to the airport. It’s time to head back to Adelaide via Singapore. I will have about seven hours to spend in Singapore, so I’ll probably head off to Orchard Road and bum around for a while before I head back to the airport. I will only fly back to Adelaide from Singapore at about 10.30pm! I miss being home and sleeping in my own bed and just putting my newly acquaired trinkets from the various places that I visited in Europe, on my bookshelves. The only bit that I still face with some apprehension is the fact that I will have to get back to the office on Monday. Hahaha.
My trip in Europe feels like a distant past at the moment because of the extra holiday in Indonesia. In a way, it’s good that I have an additional relaxing break after all of the travelling that I needed to do in Europe. I’m totally relaxed now – which is great! A friend of mine suggested that I should return to Indonesia and work here – whilst I don’t close any doors, I don’t know whether it’s the right step to head back to Indonesia and live here for good. I have my mortgage to consider, so I will have to demand quite a high level of salary if I work here because of the exchange rate. Whilst I do enjoy being close to my family and friends, I don’t miss the traffic jam, the hectic pace, and the constantly hot and humid temperature. It is a bit bittersweet though when I hear that people from my batch in Citibank and those even below me are now the Vice Presidents and senior management of various banks in Jakarta and abroad. Ah well, to each their own, I suppose. 🙂
So that’s it for now – I’ve run out of things to ramble about this morning. By the way, if you’re wondering what my mum said when she saw me here (because my trip to Indonesia was meant to be a surprise for her!), unfortunately one of my sisters spoilt the surprise. She told my mum that I would be coming – so it was still very nice for her but there were no dramatic moments when she saw me. Ah well! 🙂 Maybe it’s true that women can’t keep a secret! Hahahaa. Just kidding – before I receive many flames from my female readers *grin*.
