Christmas 2007 – Alone but not down

So this is Christmas … I’ve just finished my Christmas dinner which consisted of the Fusilli Aglio Olio e Peperoncino – not my best one because I put one too many chillies and it’s a wee bit too dry. It’s still a good feed nevertheless – I have it with a bottle of 1999 Peterson House Sparkling Shiraz from Hunter Valley. It’s one of the bottles that Hugo left in Adelaide when he was forced to leave some of his wine purchase in 2003 because of the duty-free allowance limitation. I thought that perhaps the wine had lost the fizz and lost its character because I didn’t drink it earlier. It still had a lot of fizz in it as I had to twist and turn the bottle to get the cork out – the wine has mellowed down but still very refreshingly spicy and caramelly.

The day has been relaxing – strangely, it’s one of the best Christmases that I have experienced thus far. It started with me reading my Bible in the morning, and then quickly took a shower and a brisk walk to church, about 30 mins on foot – and back again home to relax.

At the moment I’m watching some telly in the living room – Mr Bean’s Christmas on ABC – I can’t stand Mr Bean – every time he’s on, I feel like strangling him. Tonight I make an exception because it’s Christmas and the episode is a bit more watchable than the others. 🙂

Well, Merry Christmas everybody! 🙂
